We are looking for a qualified candidate starting in March or by mutual agreement for an
Internship in Department of International Cooperation - Farming System Resilience by Mainstreaming biodiversity (100%)
Topics/Tasks
You will work in our international project team of BioDivKa (FiBL project database: https://www.fibl.org/en/themes/projectdatabase/projectitem/project/2863)
The internship focuses on India, working primarily with datasets related to rice and sorghum, and-where relevant-other neglected and underutilized crops. You will compile, clean, curate and document datasets, develop and refine data and field protocols (templates, indicator definitions, QA/QC steps), and support the preparation of analyses and visual summaries for partner feedback and reporting. Subject to project needs and administrative arrangements, there may be an opportunity to travel to Karnataka to support partners on the ground (e.g., protocol roll-out, troubleshooting, data review). The workplace is Frick (AG), Switzerland.
Special features:
Hands-on experience in building robust data-to-evidence workflows in international R4D projects, including protocol development and collaboration with field partners.
Duration & Start date

Requirements
Master’s degree (or near completion) in agricultural sciences, terrestrial ecology, environmental sciences, Farming Systems ecology, Plant breeding, development studies, statistics or data science or related subjects; good basic knowledge of statistics and interest in data curation and scientific writing; interest in intercultural cooperation; excellent command of English (required). French is an advantage. Due to work authorization requirements in Switzerland, priority will be given to applicants who already have the right to work in Switzerland (Swiss / EU / EFTA); applications from candidates requiring visa sponsorship will be considered only if no suitable candidates with existing work authorization are available.
