As second engineer or chief engineer, you have the responsibility for the engine operations on board. You have to make decisions and finding flexible solutions to all kind of challenges. You might be the most important person to keep the vessel seaworthy.

Terms of reference

• Management and organization of technical ship operations
• Responsibilities in human resources on board
• Ensuring the operational readiness of the main engine and auxiliary systems
• Commissioning, operating and monitoring of the engine systems
• Fulfillment of regular maintenance measures
• Advising the captain on technical and economic issues
• Preparation of repair requirements and drydocking lists
• Ordering fuels and lubricants as well as the necessary spare parts
• Disposal of the above substances in accordance with MARPOL
• Compliance with environmental regulations

• good spoken and written english
• Your Certificates and exams
• Teamplayer character
• Responsible attitude
